Tippmann Sports LLC of Fort Wayne, Ind., has recalled about 13,000 paintball guns because the end cap can pop off, injuring the user, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
Tippmann has received three reports of incidents, one resulting in a minor injury.
Tippmann A-5 Paintball Markers with serials 0409301 to 0422200 have been recalled. The number is engraved on the left side of the marker near the front grip and on the packaging. Serial numbers ending in R have already been repaired.
The guns were sold by sporting goods retailers, paintball dealers and online retailers from May 2008 through February 2009 for between $180 and $350 US.
Consumers should stop using the guns and contact Tippmann for a free repair kit.
Tippmann can be reached at (866) 841-3029 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
