Health Canada warns parents to keep grate cleaner away from children
- March 3, 2009 2:56 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Health Canada is telling parents that a grate cleaner solution for a gas stove does not have a child-resistant cap as required by Canadian law.
The product — Cerama Bryte Gas Grate Cleaner — was manufactured in China by Golden Ventures Inc. of Indianapolis, Ind., and imported into Canada by Oval International Inc. of Montreal.
Approximately 1,650 units of the grate cleaner were sold at Sears Canada stores and other retail outlets between October 2008 and February 2009.
Health Canada is telling parents to keep the product out of reach of their children and in a locked cupboard.
There have been no reports of injuries or illness from the use of this product.
