Health Canada recalls children's toys

Health Canada is recalling the Tag Along Chime Trio, the Lil Chef Set and the Activity Stacker by Infantino because the blue metallic material on the petal and wing of plush creatures that are part of the children's toys can detach and become a choking hazard.

The Tag Along Chime Trio is a set of three plush figures suspended from a fabric support. The Lil Chef Set is a three-piece toy cook set that includes a pot, measuring spoons and shakers on a ring. The Activity Stacker is a pyramid made of multiple rings that fit onto a soft cylinder.

All of the recalled toys have blue metallic material and a textile tag that says "Infantino" somewhere on the toy. Toys with blue satin material are not included in the recall.

Testing on the Tag Along Chime Trio revealed the choking hazard, and along with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Infantino is voluntarily extending the recall to its Lil Chef Set and the Activity Stacker.

Health Canada has received one report of a child choking on the blue metallic material that had separated from the Tag Along Chime Trio. Infantino has received 45 reports of metallic fabric detaching from the toys. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers are urged to take the recalled toys away from children and contact Infantino at 1-888-808-3111 for a replacement product.

About 11,998 of the recalled products, manufactured in China, were sold at Toys R Us and specialty stores in Canada from June 2007 to February 2009.

In the U.S., about 172,000 units were sold at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer, BJ's and other toy stores in the U.S.
