Chinese-made Electrolux vacuum cleaners could hurt users
- March 30, 2009 2:08 PM
- By Tara Kimura
Electrolux is recalling 44,750 cordless, stick vacuum cleaners sold in Canada since November 2007 because the batteries could expand and burst, possibly injuring the user and bystanders.
The recalled models, made in China, were sold under the names Ergorapido, Pronto, Sanitaire by Precision and Precision by Electrolux. They were available at Canadian Tire, Costco, the Bay, Lowes, Sears and other stores across the country.
Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled vacuums and contact Electrolux Home Care Products Canada of Mississauga, Ont., for a free replacement of the hand-held portion, which contains the batteries.
