Plush reindeer could lose eyes

Health Canada has recalled 17,473 Standing Reindeer plush toys because their eyes may come loose, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The toy came in two sizes, 41 centimetres tall (universal product code 060383807030) and 64 centimetres tall (UPC 060383807047).

The toys are brown and white; the limbs can be bent and posed and a collar around the neck has small bells attached to it.

There are no reports of injuries.

The toys were sold at Maxi, Zehrs, Fortinos, Great Canadian Superstore, Loblaws, Atlantic Superstore, No Frills and Independent stores across Canada between September 2008 and January 2009.
