Nordica ski bindings may break

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled 4,500 pairs of Nordica skies because the binding may break, causing the skier to fall.

No injuries have been reported.

The binding in question, the Xbi, was used on Nordica 2006 and 2007 MACH3POWER, 2007 DOBSPIT, 2007 and 2008 DOBPROSL, 2007 MACH2, 2007 MACH3, 2007 HELLCAT, 2007 and 2008 FIREFOX, and 2008 DOBPROG skis.

The skis were sold across the U.S. from August 2006 to December 2008 for between $800 US and $1,500.
Consumers can get a free replacement part from the retailer.
