The Canadian Food Inspection agency is warning consumers to avoid yet more food products made with peanuts contaminated with salmonella bacteria in the United States.
The products – a line of 75-gram Promax brand energy bars and a protein food bar made by Tri-O-Plex – contain peanut products made by the Peanut Corporation of America that have been recalled by Canadian and U.S. authorities.
The CFIA said it is working with Canadian manufacturers to remove foods containing peanuts suspected of being tainted with salmonella.
There have been no confirmed illnesses in Canada arising from the consumption of these products, the CFIA said.
