Jewelry cleaner recalled over burn hazard
- February 3, 2009 10:35 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Health Canada is recalling a liquid jewelry cleaner because it lacks the symbol, warnings and child-resistant packaging required for corrosive products, posing a serious burn hazard.
Shine It brand jewelry cleaner is a dark yellow liquid packaged in a 59-ml plastic flip-top bottle. The recalled product is identified by the UPC code 056626761252.
Consumers should immediately stop using the cleaner and dispose of it in their regular household garbage.
About 9,700 bottles were sold at various locations across Canada between January 2006 and January 2009.
