Foreign product recalls

Health Canada is warning Canadians not to consume a series of 12 foreign-produced products including:

  • Lami – a Singapore-made weight-loss treatment;
  • Linglongquxian – a Chinese dietary supplement;
  • Menergy M-Essence – a sexual dysfunction capsule from Singapore;
  • Two Nyal cold and flu medicines – an Australian cold tablet;
  • 999 Radix Notoginseng – a Chinese ginseng product;
  • Six Slim Pure products – pills to promote weight loss from Hong Kong.

The federal department said these products have various detrimental side effects if consumed.

Health Canada said the supplements and treatments have not been approved for sale in this country but could have been imported by foreign travelers or through the Internet. The agency said it has not had any reports of illness related to these treatments.
