CFIA says certain ham, chicken products may have listeria contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning Canadians not to eat certain chicken salad or chunky-ham products manufactured by Plaisirs Gastronomiques Inc. because they might contain the listeria bacteria.

The chicken product is sold under the label "St. Hubert Chicken Salad Spread" in grocery stores in Quebec while the ham salad is sold in a variety of supermarkets in Quebec and Ontario.

The CFIA is advising that shoppers who purchased these products dated Feb. 2 to Feb. 24 should not eat them.

The agency said it does not have any reports of illness due to the consumption of the ham or chicken.

The CFIA had issued an earlier warning concerning ham products dated Feb. 11 and Feb. 20.
