Bijouterra products recalled for excess lead

Health Canada has recalled three Bijouterra jewelry products because they contain too much lead.

The products are:
- The pirate and sword birthstone pendant, model number 53PS, a light-grey metal skull with a sword in its mouth and coloured stones for eyes on a black leather-like cord.
- The double-dolphin birthstone pendant, model number 53DD, two dolphins with a coloured stone in the middle, on a black leather-like cord.
- Silver-coloured necklaces with a metallic pendant that has a large star with two smaller stars attached to it.

There have been no reports of illness, but lead is toxic if young children ingest it.

About 837 units of the pirate and dolphin pendants were sold in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
The Accessoires Daisy store in Montreal sold about 24 of the star necklaces.

Consumers can call Bijouterra of Montreal at 1-514-227-4496.
