Viking Range recalls toasters for shock hazard
Viking Range Corp. is recalling about 10,000 Chinese-made toasters in the U.S. because they pose a shock danger, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recall affects the Viking Professional four-slot toasters with the following model numbers: VT400WH, VT400BK, VT400GG, VT400SG, VT400BR and VT400CB.
The company has learned of five related incidents in which consumers reported experiencing a minor shock when touching the toaster.
The toasters were sold in U.S. stores and through online retailers from April 2005 through November 2008 for about $300 US.
Consumers should stop using the product and contact the company for a replacement.
