Health Canada recalls lazy baby soft dolls due to choking hazards

Health Canada is recalling Lazy Baby Soft Doll by Kid Connection because the plastic tabs that hold the cap onto the head of the doll can detach and cause a choking hazard.

The doll is dressed in a cloth sleeper and cap of various colours and patterns. The sleeper should stay on the doll. The doll is about 31 centimetres in length. It is identified by item number 71214 and UPC 026253712149.

Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries to Canadians related to the use of the doll.

It urges consumers to take the doll away from young children immediately and throw out the two plastic tabs that hold the cap in place. The tabs were not intended to be part of the toy. The doll can be given back to the child after these fasteners have been removed.

About 207,469 of the Lazy Baby dolls, manufactured in China, were sold at Wal-Mart stores across Canada from March 2003 to January 2009.
