Health Canada is recalling Frog Squeeze Toys by Dollar Novelties because the squeaker inside the frog can be easily removed and pose a choking hazard.
The soft, green, plastic squeeze toys, which come in the shape of frogs, were sold in packages of four.
A small squeaker reed is embedded in the belly of each frog. Each package contains one large and three small frogs.
The large frog is about 13 centimetres in length, while the small frogs are about five centimetres in length. The toy is identified by item no. 000106.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries related to the use of the toys.
It advises consumers to take the squeeze toy away from children and throw it out in their regular garbage.
For more information, consumers could also call Dollar Novelties Import Inc. of Calgary, which imported the toys, at 1-403-802-1398.
About 84 packages of the recalled toys, manufactured in China, were sold at various dollar stores in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba from October to November 2008.
