Brake parts cleaner recalled

Health Canada has recalled Johnsen's Brake Parts Cleaner because it poses a fire hazard.

More than 10,100 pressurized containers were sold at Princess Auto retail stores across Canada in November and December.

There are no reports of injuries but consumers should immediately stop using the product.

The green containers have a black cap, with item number 8242844 and UPC numbers: 000000000008242844, 000000039101002415 and 000000039101024141, part number 2414F.


The cleaner projects a flame that is longer than the regulated limit.

Princess Auto stores are offering full refunds.

For more information, consumers can call the company toll-free at 1-800-665-8685 between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
