Bikes with RockShox forks recalled over crash risk

Chicago-based SRAM LLC is recalling about 175 bicycles equipped with RockShox Domain 302 and 319 bicycle forks because the forks can detach, creating a crash hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The products were made in Taiwan.

The recall affects forks made from March to October 2008 with the date codes 09T8 through 42T8.

One related injury has been reported in the U.S.

The bikes were sold in the U.S. from March through November 2008 and were priced from $1,600 to $3,100 US.

Consumers should stop using the bikes and contact their bicycle retailer for a replacement fork.
