Bicycle light batteries recalled for burn danger

About 1,700 DiNotte Lighting lithium-ion batteries used with bicycle lights are being recalled in the U.S. because they pose a burn hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The CPSC warns loose wiring and a lack of proper ventilation can cause the batteries to overheat.

No associated incidents or injuries have been reported.

The batteries were sold in U.S. stores and through online retailers from February 2006 through March 2007 for between $200 and $400 US.

The batteries were made in the U.S. and China.

Consumers should stop using the products and contact the company for a replacement.
