7,000 stockpots recalled for burn hazard

- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 7,000 Century Cookware stockpots are being recalled in the U.S. because the metal handles can detach during use, creating a burn hazard for users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.
The recall affects eight-quart, 12-quart, 16-quart, and 20-quart pots with glass lids sold in New England stores from July to October 2008 for between $12 US and $25 US.
The company has learned of one incident in which the handles detached, the CPSC said.
The pots were made in India.
Consumers should stop using the pots and return them for a refund.
