Video game guitars recalled for burn hazard

California-based Performance Designed Products is recalling its Rage Wireless Guitars, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.
The CPSC said a defect in the circuit board may cause the guitars' batteries to leak if installed incorrectly, creating a chemical burn hazard to users.
About 2,500 guitars were sold in Canada, Health Canada said Thursday.
The company has learned of one consumer suffering a burn.
The guitars, which are used with the Nintendo Wii gaming system, were sold in U.S. stores from June 2008 through September 2008 for between $40 and $60 US.
The guitars were made in China.
Consumers should stop using the guitars and return them to the retailer for a refund.
