Ikea recalls Kviby chest of drawers
- October 1, 2008 2:52 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Ikea is voluntarily recalling its Kviby chest of drawers because the glass knobs sold with the product can break and cause injury if they are over-tightened.
No injuries have been reported to Health Canada, but Ikea is advising people to stop using the glass knobs immediately.
The Kviby chests of drawers were made in Denmark. About 1,373 units were sold at various Ikea stores across Canada between April 2007 and July 2008.
A similar recall of 5,000 units is in place in the U.S. More than 26,000 units were sold worldwide.
Consumers may contact Ikea's returns and exchanges department in the store or telephone customer service toll free at 1-800-661-9807, to receive a free repair kit by mail.
