Homelite chainsaws recalled for laceration danger
- October 31, 2008 3:53 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 370,000 Homelite chainsaws are being withdrawn because their chain brake can break, creating a laceration danger, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
No associated incidents or injuries have been reported.
The recall affects the following models: UT10514, UT10516, UT10517, UT10518, UT10520, UT10540, UT10560 and UT10918.
Only chainsaws that were manufactured between November 2007 and August 2008 are included in the recall.
The products, which were made in China, were sold in U.S. Home Depot stores from December 2007 through October 2008 for between $110 and $200 US.
Consumers should stop using the chainsaws and contact Homelite Consumer Products for a repair.
