- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 54,500 Fit & Fresh mixers are being recalled because they pose a laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The blenders can turn on unexpectedly, the CPSC said. The company has learned of one related incident involving lacerations.
The recall affects mixers with the item number 770FF and the model number SB-19 with the following date codes: 2707, 4407, 5207, 0308 and 0508.
The products were sold in U.S. shops and through amazon.com from September 2007 through August 2008 for about $25 US.
The mixers were made in China.
Consumers should stop using the products and contact the company for return information.
