Health Canada recalls Fairy Dust pendants

Health Canada recalled children's Fairy Dust pendants on Friday because they contain high levels of lead.

The recalled pewter pendants were sold in a collection of 12. The pendants were sold separately and also packaged with candles of various colours and scents.

Lead is toxic if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.

The pendants and charms were sold from February 2004 through February 2008 at various retail stores in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and British Columbia.

Parents are advised to take the pendants away from their children.

For more information, consumers can call Connecticut-based importer Benjamin International toll free to receive a free replacement pendant and charm at (888) 249-7639 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET.
