Soldier toy has lead paint

A green plastic soldier figure could hurt children because the surface paint contains lead, Health Canada said.

About 55,000 of figures, called the Massive Soldier with Machine Gun, item number 08-3000863, were sold from May 2007 to July 2008 at Dollarama stores across the country.

Paint on the toy contains more lead than allowed. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children. There are no reports of illness or injury.

Dollarama will replace the toy.
