- By Peter Hadzipetros
Health Canada on Wednesday issued a safety alert warning consumers futons sold under the Masters Futon Mfg brand failed to meet flammability standards.
The federal agency said its alert applies to futons sold by Futons Heaven Sent, in Edmonton, between Nov. 3, 2007 and Jan. 7, 2008. Health Canada warns other futons sold under the same label may also fail to meet flammability requirements.
No associated incidents or injuries have been reported.
Consumers are advised to stop using the futons and can call Health Canada with questions at 1-866-662-0666.
