Indoor lighting fixtures recalled for safety hazard

Georgia-based Lithonia Lighting is recalling about 1,400 lighting fixtures because the glass reflectors on the products may detach, creating a safety risk to users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.

The company has learned of one reflector falling. No associated injuries have been reported.

The recall includes the Hi-Bay Indoor High-Intensity Discharge Fixtures with the model numbers PG16A and PG21A.

The fixtures were sold in the U.S. from January 2007 through May 2008 for between $280 and $350 US.

The products were made in the U.S.

The CPSC warns consumers to inspect the fixtures and remove any units with loose glass. The company will arrange for a free replacement.
