Hazard alert on Canadian-made cribs

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 1,300 cribs made in Toronto because they don't meet U.S. safety standards.

A mattress support bracket in some cribs made by Mother Hubbard's Cupboards was installed in such a way that there is too little space between the mattress and the side rail, posing a threat to children who climb over the railing.

No injuries have been reported.

The recall includes the Enchantment, Hush a Bye, Once Upon a Time ands Rock a Bye cribs with the date codes 0306 through 0308.

They were sold from March 2006 through March 2008 for between $500 and $650 US.

Consumers can call Mother Hubbard's Cupboards (888) 661-8201 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday, and between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET Friday and Saturday to get instructions on how to reinstall the bracket.
