Sofina Foods recalls its cooked and sliced chicken pieces

Sofina Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling its cooked and sliced chicken pieces because they may contain egg protein that hasn't been declared on the label, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said.

The agency is also warning people with allergies to egg protein to avoid consuming the product.

Cooked and sliced chicken pieces were sold in one-kilogram packages bearing UPC 0 6142300419 8, with best before dates of JL 14, 18, 22 and AU 04, 07, 08, 11 and 14.

There have been no reports of illnesses associated from eating this product, the agency said.
