Bayside Furnishings recalls beds for entrapment, strangulation dangers

About 9,350 LaJolla Boat Beds and Pirate of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Beds are being recalled, following the death of a toddler, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The lid on the chests may close too quickly, posing an entrapment and strangulation danger to children, the CPSC said.

The beds were sold in Costco and furniture retail stores in the U.S. from January 2006 through May 2008 for between $700 and $1,400 US.

Caregivers should stop using the products and contact the company for a repair kit.

The beds were made in China.
