American Honda Motor Corp. recalls lawn mowers for laceration danger
Friday, July 11, 2008 | 09:30 AM ET
California-based American Honda Motor Corp. is recalling about 20,500 lawn mowers because the rear shield can break off, putting the operator at risk of a laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The company has learned of one shield breaking. No injuries have been reported.
The recall includes the HRX lawn mowers with the model numbers HRX217(K)2HXA and HRX217(K)2HMA.
The mowers were sold through American Honda Motor Corp. dealers and Home Depot in the U.S. from October 2007 to June 2008 for about $900 US.
The mowers were made in the U.S.
Consumers should stop using the mowers and contact their local Honda Lawn and Garden dealer for a free repair.
