Thunderwolf remote-controlled helicopters recalled for fire risk
- June 30, 2008 3:09 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 102,000 Thunderwolf remote-controlled helicopters are being recalled because the rechargeable battery inside the helicopter can overheat, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The helicopters, imported and distributed by Westminster Inc., were sold in U.S. stores from June to December 2007 for about $20.
The company has learned of seven related incidents, including two reports of minor property damage.
The helicopters were manufactured in China.
Consumers should stop using the helicopters and contact the company for a refund.
