Bassettbaby cribs recalled for safety hazard
- June 9, 2008 9:32 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Virginia-based Bassettbaby is recalling about 550 Wendy Bellissimo Hidden Hills Collection Cribs because they pose a safety hazard to infants, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The CPSC warns that the spaces between the spindles on the cribs don't meet U.S. federal standards and pose an entrapment danger to infants.
The company has not learned of any related incidents or injuries.
The recall affects cribs with model numbers 5446-0521 and sold in U.S. Babies "R" Us stores from November 2007 through February 2008 for about $500 US.
The cribs were manufactured in China.
Consumers should stop using the cribs and contact the company for an inspection and replacement if necessary.
