Shindaiwa Backpack Blowers recalled for laceration danger
Friday, May 23, 2008 | 09:22 AM ET
Shindaiwa is recalling about 600 Backpack Blowers sold in Canada because they may pose a laceration danger to users, Health Canada said Thursday.
The recall affects the EB8510 and EB8510RT models with serial numbers through February 2007 production dates.
The company warns the fans in the units may detach and break, putting the user and bystanders at risk of injury. Shindaiwa has learned of 13 related incidents in the U.S., involving minor injury and property damage.
Consumers should stop using the backpack blowers and contact the company for an inspection.
