Regal Gifts recalls magnetic toys for safety concerns
- May 27, 2008 9:43 AM
- By Tara Kimura
Regal Gifts Corporation is recalling a toy because magnets in the toy may come loose, creating a safety danger to young children.
If a child swallowed more than one magnet, the magnets could attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.
The recall affects toys labelled Magic Shapes, with the product number 7187/9259. The same toys were also sold as Magnetic Blocks, product number 9259.
No associated injuries have been reported.
Caregivers should take the toy away from children, and contact the company at 1-800-565-3130 for a refund.
