Danby Products recalls 19,500 dehumidifiers
- May 23, 2008 9:21 AM
- By Tara Kimura
Guelph-based Danby Products on Thursday announced a recall of about 19,500 dehumidfiers because they pose fire danger.
The internal wiring in the units may short-circuit and ignite, the company said. The company has learned of four related incidents.
The recall affects the Danby Dehumidifier Model SDR204 sold under the Simplicity brand sold from February 2004 through May 2008 in Canadian stores.
Consumers should stop using the affected dehumidifiers and contact Danby for return information.
