Children's blanket recalled due to strangulation hazard

Parents are being warned about a children's blanket that could cause strangulation because its satin edge can come loose.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Tuesday issued a recall for the Lil' Snugglers Children's Blankets, manufactured by New Hampshire-based Douglas Company.
The blankets are 35-by-35 centimetres with an animal head sewn in the middle. The satin border around the outside edge is about 2.5 centimetres wide. Only blankets with a P.O. number of 1330 or below are included in the recall.
About 74,000 of the blankets were sold at U.S. specialty stores and on the web from April 2005 through December 2007 for about $12 US each.
While there are 18 reports of the satin edge separating from the blanket, no injuries have been reported.
The CPSC urges consumers take the blankets away from children immediately and return it to Douglas Company for a free replacement blanket or credit toward another item of equal value.
