Kidz World hooded sweatshirts recalled for strangulation danger

New York-based Kidz World Inc. is recalling about 5,000 sweatshirts, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday.

The CPSC said strings threaded through the hoods of the garments pose a strangulation danger to children. No related injuries have been reported.

The recall affects sweatshirts with the following style numbers:


  • T78311.

  • S78511.

  • S78514.

  • S78515.

  • S78516.

  • S72509.

  • S74509.

The sweatshirts, which were made in Pakistan, Egypt and Korea, were sold in U.S. stores from October 2007 through November 2007 for about $15 US.

Consumers should remove the drawstring or contact the company at (212) 563-4949 for a refund.
