About 18,000 Backyard and Beyond Metal Water Bottles are being pulled because paint on the bottles contains high levels of lead, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recall affects bottles with the following model numbers: 67402, 67404, 67442, 67444, 67742, 60442, 67744, 67746, 67748 and 60448 sold in U.S. stores from February 2006 through February 2008 for about $8 US.
The bottles were made in China.
No adverse health effects have been reported.
Consumers should return the bottle to the store for a refund.
