- By Peter Hadzipetros
People with allergies to milk protein should avoid certain Canada Safeway crumpets, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency warns.
The crumpets, in packages of six weighing 264 grams with a lot code of 0448 C and a UPC code of 0 58200 18492 1, may contain milk protein which is not declared on the label.
They were sold starting Feb. 13 in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.
No illnesses have been reported, but Canada Safeway is recalling the product.
For more information, consumers can call Canada Safeway at 1-800-SAFEWAY.
