Seattle-based Nordstrom is recalling about 2,500 candle sets because the exterior coating may ignite, creating a fire danger, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
Four incidents involving smoke or flames coming from the exterior of the candle have been reported to the company.
The recall affects the At Home brand of candles sold with the following style numbers:
- NR-07059G
- NR-07059S
- NR-07001G
- NR-07001S
The candles, which were packaged in sets of six, were sold in Nordstrom stores in the U.S. from September 2007 through December 2007. The votive candles were priced at $12 US and the taper candles were sold for $18 US.
The sets were manufactured in Taiwan.
Consumers should stop using the candles and return them to the store for a refund.
