Digital timers recalled for shock hazard

About 8,500 digital timers are being recalled in the U.S. because they weren't wired correctly and could cause electrical shocks, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.

The recall applies to the Intermatic DT27 Digital Self-Adjusting Timers with a date code of 04B. The timers were imported by Illinois-based Intermatic Inc. and sold in U.S. stores from February 2007 through December 2007 for between $15 and $25 US.

No associated incidents or injuries have been reported.

The timers were manufactured in China.

Consumers should stop using the timers and contact the company for a replacement.
