Super Magnets recalled for safety hazards
- December 24, 2007 12:07 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 2,800 panda-shaped Super Magnets, imported by California-based Man's Trading Company, are being recalled because the toys pose safety hazards to young children.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Friday. Tiny magnets on the pandas can come free and could be aspirated or swallowed and could cause blockages or perforations in the intestine.
No associated injuries have been reported.
The magnets were sold in U.S. stores from September 2005 through November 2007 for about $1 US. The products were manufactured in China.
Consumers should take the toys away from children and return them for a refund.
