Christmas candle sets recalled for fire hazard
- December 24, 2007 12:00 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
About 13,000 Christmas candle sets distributed by Specialty Merchandise Corporation are being recalled because the candles can tip over and the exterior coating on the candles may ignite, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warns.
The recall affects the Snowman and Christmas Tree candle set sold through SMC's catalogue from October 2003 through September 2007 for between $4 and $13 US. The candles were manufactured in China.
No associated incidents have been reported.
Consumers should stop using the candles and contact the company for a refund.
