Ceramic hairstyling irons recalled for faulty on/off switches
- December 12, 2007 10:15 AM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Farouk Systems is recalling about 5,700 WEE CHI ceramic irons because they pose fire and burn dangers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The CPSC warns the on/off switches on the irons were improperly installed. The irons may still be on even when switch indicates the power has been turned off. No associated injuries have been reported.
The recall affects irons with the date codes 0306 or 0507 that were sold in U.S. stores from April 2006 through September 2007 for about $160 US each.
The irons were manufactured in South Korea.
Consumers should return the products for refunds or replacements.
