- By Peter Hadzipetros
Fitness Quest Inc. is recalling about 23,000 Eclipse elliptical trainers because cranks on the foot platforms may break, causing the user to fall, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The company has learned of 190 cranks breaking. No associated injuries have been reported.
The recall affects the Eclipse 1175e elliptical trainers sold in U.S. stores from September 2006 to October 2007 for between $290 and $450 US each.
The machines were manufactured in China.
Consumers should stop using the machines and contact the company for a replacement or credit note.
