Power Bolt pitchbacks recalled for laceration danger

About 57,000 Power Bolt pitchbacks sold through Dick's Sporting Goods stores in the U.S. are being recalled because they pose a laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The frames of the baseball nets, which were made in China, can collapse when locking pins are removed, the commission said.

The recall applies to the following products:


  • The Power Bolt Y-Frame pitchback, sold from November 2002 to July 2007 for about $70 US each.
  • The Power Bolt Y-Frame Ultimate pitchback, sold from February 2005 to July 2007 for about $100 US each.

Consumers should stop using the product and contact the company for a repair kit.
