Bon-Ton recalls children's hooded sweatshirts for strangulation danger

Pennsylvania-based Bon-Ton is recalling about 3,240 hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings because they pose a strangulation hazard to children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

The recall applies to small, medium, large and X-large Burnside sweatshirts for boys with RN #39209 printed on the tag.

No injuries have been reported.

The shirts were sold at Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, Younkers and Parisian stores in the U.S. from August 2007 through October 2007 for between $18 and $30 US each.

The shirts were manufactured in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.

Consumers should pull the drawstrings out of the shirts or return the shirts to the store for a refund.
