Yamaha snowmobiles recalled for steering problem

About 5,700 Yamaha snowmobiles are being recalled because snow and ice can accumulate on the steering arm, making it difficult to guide the vehicle, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

No associated injuries have been reported.

The recall applies to the model year 2007 PZ50 snowmobiles sold through Yamaha dealers in the U.S. from June 2006 through September 2007 for between $7,000 and $8,000 US each.

Consumers should stop using the snowmobiles and contact the dealer for a repair.
