About 9,600 glitter candles sold through U.S. Christmas Tree Shops Inc. are being recalled because the glitter coating can ignite and present a fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recall applies to candles with the UPC codes 0 00014 42442 7, 0 00014 42441 0, 0 00014 42444 1. The company has learned of four candles smoking or flaming. No injuries were reported.
The candles were sold from November 2006 through December 2006 for between $1.70 US and $3.00 US.
Consumers should stop using the candles and return them the to the retailer for a refund.
