Design flaw prompts recall of Plow & Hearth chimeneas
- October 17, 2007 3:05 PM
- By Peter Hadzipetros
Plow & Hearth are recalling about 247 aluminum chimeneas because a design flaw can cause the units to catch fire or melt, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.
The company has learned of two incidents in which the units' exterior caught fire. No injuries or damage were reported.
The chimeneas were sold through Plow & Hearth's catalogue and website from March 2007 through August 2007 for about $250 US each.
Consumers should stop using the outdoor fireplaces and contact the company for a refund.
